Be part of Africa’s largest road race for women! Elite runners and casual walkers and joggers welcome - we are partnering with the Great Ethiopian Run to create a memorable experience, including an optional “shake out” run on Mt. Entoto, famous training grounds for elite Ethiopian runners and casual joggers alike.

Bekoji: Head to Bekoji, home some of the the world’s greatest Olympic long distance runners. Join the GGRF Athletic Scholars and Coach Fatiya for a training session — or just observe from the sidelines in wonder! — get to know the GGRF families and community, visit the local market, and learn what makes this high-altitude rural town so special. Discover why running & education are such a powerful tool to empower and meet the girls who are changing the trajectory of adolescence in their community!

Athletic Scholars in Bekoji Pause Between Morning Track Training and School

Bale Mountain National Park: A newly designated UNESCO World Heritage site, this beautiful and unique landscape was shaped by ancient lava outpourings, glaciation and the dissection by the Great Rift Valley. It features volcanic peaks, sweeping valleys, lakes, lush forests, deep gorges and waterfalls. With experienced local guides from Simien Eco Tours, we will trek and camp in the park, maybe catching a glimpse of animals unique to the region, including the Ethiopian Wolf and Mountain Nyala.
