|YAYA VILLAGE| The YaYa Village is a top of the line modern facility for training competitive runners in Ethiopia. The Girls Gotta Run Foundation is working with the owner and operator, Joseph Kibur, to develop a one year scholarship program for young Ethiopian women who are promising and committed, but impoverished, runners. The goal of these scholarships will be to provide the tools and opportunities for young female runners to be able to develop their athletics and understanding of the international professional field of running. The women will live at the Village and receive full accommodation, food, and use of the facilities, as well as coaching from experienced trainers. It is hoped and anticipated that the runners will leave the program as competitive, empowered women who are prepared to make careers as professional athletes.
